ABOUT
Directing ‘To Be Continued’, Glasgow 2016
Hannan is an multidisciplinary artist, curator and musician interested in pedagoly, social engagement and language. Hannan is of Algerian and Welsh origin working between Perth, Australia and Glasgow, Scotland.

Identity, place and memory through language, rhythm, performance and memory are at the core of Hannan’s practice with an emphasis on the thresholds of creative cultural and geographical exchanges, weaving together concepts of transition and translation.

As a graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from The Glasgow School of Art in Sculpture and Environmental Art, these concepts disparse and
evolve through a variety of mediums from video, site-specific responses, socially charged and curatorial practices that champion DIY aesthetics.

Hannan’s practice merges into the roles of facilitation and uses ‘process' as a final outcome through scores, participation and activities to exist as work. This approach often manifests into collaborations with artists, friends, musicians, schools and public institutions.

Hannan has exhibited and performed throughout contemporary art settings and public spaces throughout Australia, UK, Ireland, New York, Hong Kong and Berlin.
From 2014 Hannan was a co-founder and co-curator of non-for-profit gallery and open studios Gallery Unit & Unit until the closing in 2016.
